A leading chip manufacturer needed to update their solution playbook process. These playbooks are an essential resource for the sales force. They incorporate over 30 solution overview pages and and are an essential part of the master sales playbook – so being accurate and user friendly is key. They asked Virtira to do a major refresh.

The solution playbook was becoming unwieldly and updating it was costly and complicated, particularly with new partners and solutions being added on a regular basis. The key challenges were:

  • The playbooks were out of date and updates were taking too long, causing issues with the sales force

  • Updates required a great deal of administrative workload associated with gathering and formatting information from multiple solution teams.

  • They needed an easier solution so the playbook would be a living document online.

How We Solved It

Virtira’s specialists developed a new template and workflow to create the solution playbooks. This meant that consolidating the raw data for 30 new solutions happened much more quickly, so the master playbook could be up to date.

  • Extracted high-level summaries, value propositions, sales guidance, use cases, regional availability, and solution contact information from raw data.

  • Populated the information into a standardized template for each solution, ensuring consistency and clarity.

  • Submitted completed solution pages to the relevant solution teams for review and approval.

  • Incorporated approved pages into the master playbook and updated navigational tabs for easy access.

  • Maintained project transparency by tracking progress in a Smartsheet document, keeping the client informed at every stage.
